I Lost You & Found Myself— a poem

--

A year of writing
Poems of heartbreak
Prose of love
Of pain
And of soul mates.

A healing year,
Annual purging
Words dropped
Like thumbnails
From deep felt urging.

My inspirations
Have borne their offspring
Held, raised
Fed and clothed them
Lovingly sent them packing.

A universal lesson
Opening at closing
Contractions of
Emotions of
Consistent ghosting.

I lost you and found myself
In a year’s worth
Of growing
Circles are now squares
Drawn from your going.
